Billy Bremner and Steve Gibbons offer an impressive tribute to Rockpile and the British pub rock!
Rockpile was one of the top names of British pub rock in the 70’s and 80’s. You can now experience a unique tribute performance at Tampere Hall when the guitarist-singer Billy Bremner steps on the stage with his current band, Rockfiles, to deliver some of his original line-up’s best hits, such as I Knew The Bride, I Hear You Knockin´, Loud Music In Cars, Down Down Down, and Three Time Looser.
The original Rockpile line-up also included Dave Edmunds, Nick Lowe, and Terry Williams, besides Bremner himself. The “only super band” of British pub rock came to delight the audiences in Ruisrock in 1980.
At their Tampere Hall tribute concert, the band will gain some extra oomph when they will be joined by Birmingham’s big name Steve Gibbons, a much loved singer songwriter with an over 50-year career.
After this evening, you will know what real rock’n’roll feels like!
Scottish guitarist singer Billy Bremner is best known from his legendary band Rockpile, but he also plays on many of Nick Lowe’s and Dave Edmunds’ albums and has performed with various bands, like The Pretenders and Shakin’ Stevens. He has released four solo albums.
Steve Gibbons is veteran British singer songwriter, composer, and record producer. He has performed with bands such as The Dominettes, The Ugly’s, Balls, and Steve Gibbons Band. Together with his band The Dylan Project he has also versioned Bob Dylan’s works.
