The most famous Finnish folk songs in the concert celebrating a pioneer of world music.
Globally famous Finnish world music group Piirpauke celebrates its 45th anniversary in Tampere Hall! The group is known for its ability to arrange music into colourful and rich soundscapes and to combine elements of folk, jazz and progressive rock. Established in 1974, the group has recorded more than twenty studio albums, and their latest album Hali was released in January 2019. The public became familiar with the group through their version of the traditional Karelian folk song, Konevitsan kirkonkellot, that condenses the musical richness and versatility of Piirpauke.
