The American pianist legend Victor Rosenbaum at the Tampere Hall with the string quartet FINESTre, composed of Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra musicians.
Rosenbaum (1941), a celebrated and talented soloist and chamber musician has performed in the finest concert halls from New York’s Tully Hall to State Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg, and worked with famous names such as Leonard Rose, Paul Katz, and Arnold Steinhardt. He is known as a masterful performer of the 18th and 19th century music, and Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Chopin, and Brahms are composers he particularly appreciates. Rosenbaum has also premiered music by several contemporary composers, including John Heiss, Peter Westergaard, and Arlene Zallman. He is a distinguished composer himself, and very well known particularly in his home country, the United States.
Rosenbaum has been teaching at New England Conservatory in Boston and at Juilliard for many decades, and still actively gives masterclasses around the world.
Composed of Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra musicians, the string quartet FINESTre was established in 2008 and received a grant by the Pro Musica Foundation. The quartet has concerted in Cremona, Italy, and Suure-Jaani Music Festival, Estonia, for instance, and gives regular concerts in Tampere and the Pirkanmaa region.
